There are many wonderful ministries within our parish family. If you feel that you might be called to contribute to the lively ministry of music within this place, I would love to meet you, to share with you the various opportunities for service, and to hear more about your own musical interests and background.
As you prayerfully consider this possibility, do please keep in mind that . . .
With warmth and joy,

With a membership of around 30 singers, the ensemble rehearses an exciting and unique repertoire, drawing upon quality selections from many traditions. The group enjoys close fellowship in its ministry. Chancel Singers elect to attend weekly rehearsal either on Sundays following worship, from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM, or on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:20 PM, thereby making commitment to this ministry viable for active professionals and family members. (The Director does not object to the fact that a number of singers opt to double up, and attend both!)

Handbell Choir
*Active members of the Agape Handbell Choir are responsible for acquiring a substitute to cover their book, in the event of their necessary absence from rehearsal. In order to qualify for the sub list, an individual needs to be able to read music, and must have some familiarity with how to handle bells, orientation in which can be provided by the Director, if needed.

Arts Program

The following events are additional to our regular 10:00 AM Sunday morning worship, or represent unique musical offerings within that worship context. NOTE: Unless otherwise indicated, the events take place in the sanctuary of The First Presbyterian Church, 15 Shuart Lane, Ramsey.

Aside from their weekly support role in Sunday worship, the ensembles present a traditional Advent Lessons and Carols service annually. Between Palm Sunday and Easter each year, the ensembles also present a full week of compelling and spiritually-invigorating music. While the choral ensembles often emphasize the high quality performance of a cappella music, they are also frequently accompanied by instrumental ensembles of various composition.
In addition to musical performance, additional means of conveying God's Word during worship include drama, liturgical dance, and the fine arts. If you would like to know more about our repertoire, please contact us!
Agape Handbell Substitute List: This list is populated by individuals who read music relatively fluently and enjoy ringing, but who are unable to make a weekly commitment to rehearse. This is the pool upon which regular ringers draw for a substitute if they must be away for a rehearsal.
Children’s Arts Program: This program meets on most Tuesday afternoons during the active season. Participants prepare various special music/dramatic programs during the year.
